Two houses, right across the street from each other, just sold on Kinloch Road. One house sold for $165,000.00 which seems a little low, but not out of line in the neighborhood. The other house sold for $235,000.00! As far as I know, there has been only one other house in this neighborhood that has sold for a price like that (outside of Orchid Place), and that is the house right next to the lawn service, which has a pool (but which still seems like a lot of money for this neighborhood).
I guess this is good news if I ever want to sell my house, but bad news when assessment time comes around again. At the last assessment, they tried to assess my house for over $200,000, but I appealed it. Maybe the person who lived at the $235,000 house didn't appeal their assessment, because that house is assessed at $208,000.
That just seems like a lot of money for a house in a neighborhood where most are assessed at under $185,000.00, doesn't it?
