Storm Debris Clean Up

Posted in: Woodlawn Park

Rob, I'm not really sure of the time table the city has in regards to pick up of debris. I have voluntarily taken my trailer out on several occassions this week to help the residents by picking up debris....... just thought I would lend a hand.

I do know that the City Council Monday night gave approval on spending up to $10,000 if necessary for debris removal so I would suspect some type of debris pick up will be happening soon.

I only wish the City Council would have conveyed this in the form of a letter delivered to all residents. Communication has been slow to the residents this week regarding the worst storm we have had in 30 years. There are many residents that dont get on here- of course many still without power- so they would not know to get their limbs to the street.

Kudos to Doug Watson on City Council for finally opening up City Hall at the corner of Wingate and Walser. I do know that Doug realized we had power there on Monday night at the Council meeting and opened up City Hall for residents to charge their cell phones etc..... from 2-4 on Wed and Thurs.

I second the notion that the City Council should have conveyed the info in a letter. Also, until I just read this, I had no idea that the Hall was open for charging things up. This lack of communication is truly ridiculous. If we can't get online, how would we know? Not many residents look at this website, even when we have power.

Does anyone know if the city is still picking up debris? I put mine out last week on Kinloch and it is still there. I don't have a vehicle capable of getting it to City Hall or Merriweather for the City of Louisville drop off. Did Kinloch get skipped?
