Residents of wingate/westport terrace road we need your help:

I met with MSD (Brent Jones) last week about the drainage problems we are having in the rear of Wingate Road between Wingate and Westport Terrace .   Bret assured me that MSD agreed there is a problem and would work to correct it.  He walked the street and told me he would notify to the state to fix what they were doing wrong and that there was "no reason to wait for westport road construction to end" he could pull their plans and tie into them. Today I get an email about some "not in the budget".

When i called Mr. Jones to call Bull**** he said he never said they would fix the problems and quite frankly there were not enough calls about it and MSD wasn't going to spend 70 thousand dollars to make one customer happy.  

There is an old concrete pipe behind 4323 , 4321 , that is broken and dangerous, water will not flow because of the slope...they know this , they admit it but they say there weren't enough complaints..maybe i should try my "local" government.   

Please take the time to call MSD about your drainage problems and if you live on wingate / westport terrace call about this mess.    The State is now blocking the drainage with construsction.  WTF?? 

If enough people complain we can maybe get some action.   Maybe city government will help here.  I've posted MSD and Ken Flemmings phone number.   Please call / write / bug them till they fix this .

Behind our City Hall at 4327 Wingate Road a drainage pipe has been put in place, you can see the concrete cover behind our City Hall. According to MSD this pipe was installed by the state contractors.  I have also talked to MSD represenatives about the collasped concrete pipe that runs behind Wingate Road and Westport Terrace and hopefully in the next couple of days I will be able to meet with them and show them the problem. 

The old pipe, as far as I can tell, runs from the rear of 4325 Wingate Road and ends approximately behind 4313 and 4315 Wingate Road and behind 4314 Westport Terrace.  The pipe is collasped in several spots and definitely needs to be replaced or upgraded.

Hopefully we can correct this problem.

On Tuesday April 21, 2009 Councilman Scott Horn and I met with Allen Winchell, a represenative of MSD to discuss the concrete pipe that runs behind Kinloch and Westport Terrace.  Mr Winchell took pictures of the exposed pipe where it is broken and collasped, and stated he will forward them to his supervisors at MSD.

A map of Woodlawn Park, that showed the Floodplain that covers parts of our city, was viewed by Mr. Winchell for his information.

Hopefully down the road our city will get some relief from the flooding that many of our residents have after a hard or long steady rain.
