Our House Extension-Nancy Sellers from Our House gave a report to the Board on the progress of the extension plans for the building. Everything is going smoothly. The planned extension will alter one part of the roofline

nocturnal Liquor License-nocturnal has applied for a Class A Liquor License. Bethany and Seann stated that they have not had any complaints since they gave out “no parking” lawn signs to the surrounding neighbours last year. After some discussion, Jim Andrews made a motion to add an amendment to nocturnal’s Good Neighbour Agreement, which would allow the sale of hard liquor. Lily Witham seconded the motion, with a unanimous vote.

Big Box Update- Jim Andrews continues to follow the efforts of the PDC to create a mixed used development at SE Burnside & Grand that would include a Big Box anchor tenant. Susan Lindsay is the URCA representative on the RFP committee. At this point, the PDC plans a public presentation on Dec. 13th to garner public opinion. They plan to make a decision on Dec. 14th, so it is highly unlikely that any of the comments will have any effect on the decision-making process. Jim Andrews drafted the following statement to send from the BCA to the PDC:
“After reviewing the concept of a mixed use development at the Burnside Bridgehead Plan, the BCA is in agreement with the housing and shops but opposed to a Big Box anchor tenant.”
Jim made a motion that the BCA ask URAC to extend the process so there is a reasonable time for public response after the proposal is made public. The motion was seconded by Seann McKeel, with a unanimous vote. Susan Lindsay is the URCA representative on the RFP committee and will be keeping the BCA posted on further developments.

Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery- Steve Oswald from “Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery” gave an update and Matthew Lashua from Commissioner Rojo de Steffey’s office was on hand to answer any questions as best he could.

WAMO Update-Susan Lindsay recently met with Captain Van Kleef of the Salvation Army. The Kroc trust funds will consist of a $40 million building fund and a $40 endowment. Susan asked about the possibility of getting fund for a mini-Kroc Center which would be built on the grounds of Washington High School property.

BCA Holiday Potluck- The annual holiday potluck will take place on Dec.9th, 2004. We will meet at Anne Hughes’ Kitchen Table Caf?© at 6pm. Please bring a potluck dish to share.

Meeting adjourned at 9:15pm.
