12/08/05 General Meeting Minutes

In Attendance: BCA Board Members: Susan Lindsay, Lily Witham, Gilly Burlingham, Ann Bowling, Brianne Eastburn, Jim Andrews. Also attending: Steve Hoyt (SEUL), Pam Brown, Doug Capps, Mary Franicillon, Dave Mortenson, Matthew Lashua, Mike Wolfson, Philip Ragaway, Rick Sowers, Jim Evernden, Loran Lamb-Mullin, Don MacGillivray, John Laursen, and Lee Perlman.

Jim Andrews presented an update for the Burnside Bridgehead Citizens Advisory Committee. There will be presentations in January from the developer. The PDC is working on purchasing land from the Convention Center Plaza. It looks like they will probably not be developing the northern most block.

Steve Hoyt from SEUL reminded everyone to show up to the Winter Social and Volunteer Recognition.

Philip Ragaway former owner of the BossaNova and Rick Sowers new owner of Outlaws came to talk about the change in ownership and change in business style. Outlaws will be a county themed bar. They are interested in a good neighbor agreement.

John Laursen of the Hawthorne Transportation Citizens Advisory Committee would like a letter of support from the BCA to Commissioner Sam Adams letting him know that we would like him to keep the promise from the Portland Office of Transportation to fully fund the Hawthorne Improvement Plan. Jim Andrews made a motion for the BCA to sign the letter. Gilly Burlingham seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.

Susan Lindsay would like to invite Amanda Fritz to the next meeting. She will be running against Dan Saltzman.

Lily Witham knows of three people willing to be on the board. There will be elections at January’s General Meeting to fill our three empty board positions.

Susan Lindsay discussed the latest WAMO news. We would like to have both RFP’s go out at the same time.

Carol would like look into making sidewalk repair up to the property owner to decide how it looks and not to city code.

Meeting Adjourned at 9:00

Respectfully submitted by Brianne Eastburn
