BCA Board Meeting Minutes 10/07/04

"?H.?: Lily Witham, Ann Bowling, Bethany Pratt, Seann McKeel, Anne Hughes, Lee Perlman, and Jim Andrews.

The meeting was chaired by Jim Andrews.

Lone Fir Cemetery- Mary Ann Schwab gave a report on the recent Lone Fir Task Force Meeting that she attended. The County and Metro are still in disagreement about who should pay the demolition costs of removing the County Bldg located at SE 20th & Morrison, on what was formerly dedicated cemetery land. The task force asked the County to hold the property for 6 months, so that an ad hoc committee can brainstorm for fundraising ideas.

Mural Update- Lily Witham met recently with “Frost” and he has been working on the Buckman Mural more frequently. The mural looks really good now that more detail has been added.

26th & Alder Property- This item was moved to the general meeting agenda,

New Board Member- The board appointed Seann McKeel as a new board member. The motion was made by Lily Witham and seconded by Jim Andrews, with a unanimous vote

Liquor Committee Report- As Susan Lindsay was unable to attend the meeting, Bethany Pratt will contact her by email to discuss new liquor license.

WAMO update deferred until the general meeting.

Burnside Bridgehead Project- Jim Andrews reported that a traffic analysis report was given, which stated that there “is already so much traffic around MLK, E. Burnside and N.E. Couch that more cars won’t make any difference.” Several board members mentioned that they felt there was a credibility issue with the report.

Jim Andrews made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55. Bethany Pratt seconded the motion.
