Grants Update: Danielle Chavez and friends applied for a $1,000.00 Source - a youth grant to bring a little joy and care to the senor citizens at Bellerose Convalescent Hospital. Pat and Anthony Martinez applied for a $10,000.00 Grant from the Resource for Families and Communities (RFC) to fund a Heath Faire. The Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved a $40,000.00 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Forest Avenue Project on May 8th. The BOS on a 5-0 vote did not approve the BCA?’s CDBG $77,000.00 Urban County Staff?’s recommendation to fund the Beverly Street Light Project. The BCA was awarded a $5,000.00 Community Foundation Silicon Valley grant to fund newsletters, community events and increase membership. Prior to receiving the grants three BCA members must take 4 required courses, then it?’s payday. The BCA may be applying for a VTA grant to fund a new project called the Elliot Avenue Sidewalk Project, or to continue funding exiting projects.
