5th Annual Health Fair was another success!
This year?’s Health Fair was another feather in BCA?’s hat. With a grant from Resources for Families and Communities for $11,000.00, the planning committee and the many fine volunteers, produced a great Health Fair. We thank the many donors, especially Hertz for Rent, Copyland, the West San Carlos Business Association and the many other donors and sponsors. See the enclosed flyer for a complete donor and sponsor list. The food was excellent. Carne asada - thin Latin steak, and succulent chicken, with Spanish rice, along side a choice of several salads, were served. A variety of fruit drinks, spring water and assorted coffees were offered.
After a long day of visiting the dozens of service providers and visiting the health screenings provided by qualified nursing and agency staff, one could enjoy the fantastic motions of the Belly and Gypsy dancers or the fine tunes of the musicians that played through out the day. Oh yes, some lucky winner took home that brand new 27?” color stereo TV, from the raffle at the end of the day. Over fifty items were raffled off. It was a fun and enjoyable day for a fair.
At the end of the day, the hard work began by cleaning up and leaving the location as clean or cleaner than we found it.
