Item I ?– OPPOSITION TO BID #32
To follow-up last month?’s report of CFNBA?’s Opposition to BID #32. We opposed due to the absence of Due Process for the property owners ?– They were not allowed to make the decision to have the BID. Seven handpicked individuals spoke for 117 without their approval. Attached are the SIX STEPS that were not followed. It is the guidelines from the Department of City Development.
Item II ?– WHO?’S WHO GALA ?– JANUARY 28, 2005
On Friday, January 28, 2005, Campaign Neighborhood ?– CFNBA held its Who?’s Who award ceremony at Big Man?’s House of Blues, 35th & North Avenue.
There were six categories and 25 honorees (see attachment list). They were Customer Service, Establishments, Male & Female Business, Media, Volunteerism and Neighborhood Leadership. One of the organizations selected was Community Planning Council #10. The two honorees were: President Corliss Wood and Recording Secretary ?– Jeanette McKnight.
Item III ?– CFNBA BUSINESS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
On February 9, 2005, Ash Wednesday, during African American History Month, seven officers of CFNBA Business Leadership Council were installed by Judge Joseph Donald ?– Branch 2, at Center Street Library, 2700 W. North Avenue.

CFNBA BUSINESS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL was authorized for the structure of CNI/Fondy North Business Association by Campaign Neighborhood - CFNBA. It was formed to provide the membership of CFNBA and the business community of the Inner City:
BOLD, INNOVATIVE and SUCCESSFUL leadership.
A voice for business & economic development, strategic planning, decision making and public policy.
The Council Cabinet consist of 21 members. On Wednesday, March 9, 2005, additional officers and Committee Chairs will be installed by Judge Joseph Donald. The following are three Initiatives the Council will work on:

Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month, EXCEPT JULY 6, 11:30am ?– 1:00pm. Our next meeting is held at Center Street Library, 2700 W. Center.

Item III ?– OPERATION SAFETY
CFNBA created ?“Safety Prevention and Safety Intervention Link-to-Link Coalition?” meetings as a result of a Call for Order by CFNBA on October 9, 2004 to address increased ?“gang-like beatings?” in the neighborhoods.
Our Issues of focus are:
* Business Risk Management and Security - 3rd, 5th, 7th Districts and
Security Firms
* Crime Control (robbery/homicide,etc.) - 3rd, 5th, 7th Districts
* Residential Training (Block/Auxillary/Explorer)
- 3rd, 5th, 7th Districts
* Neighborhood Greeters Training (Foot/Bike/Car Patrol)
- Police Academy & Office of Justice
* Licensing (Tobacco and Alcohol) - Gas Stations, Convenience Stores & Liquor Stores
* Prostitution/Panhandling/Drugs/Drug Paraphernalia/Street Gambling Vice Division
* WELLNESS - Trauma, Bereavement & Therapy Groups
