Ireland Observation, INCLUSIVENESS
1/6/2006
Milwaukee, WI - The recent announcement of Michael Cudahy, Business Leader and Philanthropist, to journey to Ireland with Governor Doyle, Mayor Barrett, UW-M Chancellor Santiago and Tim Sheehy for possible ways to boast Wisconsin’s economy prompted Mary Glass, Chair/CEO, Campaign Neighborhood - CFNBA to send correspondence to Cudahy with an Observation of "inclusiveness".
It also sparked an interest by Mary Glass, Chair/CEO in the policies and practices of Ireland.
Glass has now logged in well over 12 hours of research and discovered one programme and 2 plans of great interest. They are:
>>The National Anti-Racism Awareness Programme – 2000 to 2003
>>The National Development Plan – 2000 to 2006
>>The National Development Plan – 2007 to 2013
All three of the plans are blueprints that the government of Ireland has embraced in strong leadership - by supporting in word, action and financial backing. For this, they have reaped some growth in quality of life and economic development.
RACE DIFFERENCING
Race Differencing has been identified as one of the major reasons for shameful neglect of quality of life issues and economic development.
The millions of federal government dollars and private donated dollars for Inner City neighborhoods are often married and exploited in self-serving developments by local departments of government, social organizations and elected officials pay-offs.
It is one of the major "threats" that is tied to systemic and infrastructural weakness. The neglect has widespread impact. It is a major reason that we have heads of household "UNEMPLOYED" and "UNDEREMPLOYED". It has a direct link to the PUBLIC SAFETY concerns of the Inner City.
SIGNATURE PLAN
It is a priority for the Joint-Neighborhood Advisory Board, Academic PROVOST Team and Campaign Neighborhood - CFNBA in the 5-year Joint Neighborhood Signature Plan.
The National Anti-Racism Awareness Programme of Ireland is one of the models that will be implemented in a modified version for the The 5-Year Joint-Neighborhood Signature Plan.
Over the next four weeks, a clear framework will be developed for the Signature Plan.
