Thank you to everyone who attended our November meeting. Code enforcement continues to be an issue of high interest. At our next meeting there will be a map to identify problem properties. We will be developing a flyer to distribute to make our neighbors aware of our association and our goals. By bringing attention to code violations we hope to make our neighborhood more attractive for those who live here and less attractive to those looking to commit crime.
With the holidays approaching we decided to skip the December meeting but that doesn?‘t mean we will stop working toward strengthening our neighborhood. As holiday decorations start appearing lets recognize them for sharing their holiday spirit for us all to enjoy. List them hear on the web sight in the ?“Talk about it?” section. We are working on a letterhead and PO Box to secure gift certificates from local merchants. Perhaps there will be a prize for the best decorations in the neighborhood. I hope to post pictures here on our website, check back for updates.
Crime prevention is another issue on which we will be focusing. We hope to have a representative from the Police Department at our January meeting. Neighborhood Watch groups, Problem Oriented Policing are areas we will discuss. We look forward to a strong turnout at our next meeting on Thursday, January 13th to start the new year.
