?• Before you leave always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to return.
?• Carry a driver?’s license or wear an identification tag.
?• Run or walk with someone you know.
?• Stay in a familiar area.
?• If you must exercise before sunrise or after dark head for well lit areas.
?• Run or walk facing the traffic to observe approaching vehicles.
?• If followed, go to the nearest house and call the police.
?• Don?’t wear jewelry but do wear bright colored or reflective clothing to improve your visibility.
?• Consider carrying a cell phone.
?• Vary your route and pattern of exercise.
?• Always be aware of your surroundings and avoid bushes where someone could hide.
?• Don?’t leave your house unlocked. Someone might be watching you and your house to see when it will be empty.
?• Don?’t wear headsets. It prevents you from hearing an approaching car or possible attacker. . . ☻
