VOLUNTEERS & MENTORS
Our schools need volunteers and mentors. If you can make just a little time available a week or month, they could use your knowledge, kindness, and expertise. NEISD does require a background check, but you can truly make a difference in a child's life. You may feel you don't have anything to share, but you have a whole lifetime of experience that can help. Call the schools for more information.
RECYCLING
Don't forget to recycle your clean paper up at Camelot Elementary or Ed White Middle School. The schools receive money for the recycled paper-the dollar amount is based on the weight (by ton) of the paper recycled. The more we recycle with them, the more money they will receive to be used to purchase much-needed items for the schools. ONLY the following items are to be recycled in the school bins: Newspapers, Magazines, Shopping Catalogs, Mail, Office Paper, Self-stick Notes, Computer Paper, Posters and Folders, Fax Paper, and Envelopes.
JOIN THE PTA
Calling all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all those who care about the future of our students!!! If you have not already joined the PTA, please give of yourself to help make that school a better place. To join just give the school a call and they will help you sign up!

?? Sept. 16: Open House, 10 am - 12:00 noon, for parents to meet teachers, participate in activities and see Roosevelt.
?? Sept 22: Spaghetti Dinner by Spirit Boosters. Cafeteria, 3pm - 8:30pm
?? Sept 23: TR Vs. Holmes @ NS Stadium,7:30
?? Sept 29: TR Vs. Alamo Heights @ AH, 7:30
?? Sept 22, Mr. Robert Todd, Principal of Roosevelt, and a group of TR representatives will receive the National Blue Ribbon School award in Washington, DC.
?? If there is anyone interested in joining the Roosevelt PTSA, they can make a check out to Roosevelt High School for $4.00's and mail it to the school at 5110 Walzem Rd, SAT 78218. Donations to PTSA are always welcome. PTSA questions may be directed to the president, LeAnn Phillips at 646-8865.
?? Congratulations to the students and staff at Roosevelt HS for winning the Blue Ribbon Award.

?? Help Ed White earn money by picking up an Albertson's Card at school office. This is a free card that you can present anytime during your transaction at Albertson's (including the pharmacy) and they will donate at least 2% of your purchase to the school/PTA. Parents were sent a card, but anyone can pick up a card from the school office to help raise money for Ed White.

CAMELOT ELEMENTARY NEWS
?? Please recycle clean paper at our school. The recycle bin is on the side of the school.
?? Calling all parents to join the PTA!! Your contact person is Anne Johnston. Call the school for more information.
?? A lot of dogs are showing up for school this year! Although it sounds funny it is bad news for the dogs. The Canine Patrol must be called to the school when a dog is found at school and the dogs are picked up and taken away. Please keep track of your pets, especially in the morning, but if they do show up missing check with the human society or pound.
