Casa de Amparo

Volunteer Highlights

Mar 02, 2000

Pat Keith-Leach has been volunteering at Casa de Amparo since May of 1999. She comes to us with an impressive background in Nursing Administration, including 25 years of pediatric nursing. As a community minded person, she is also currently on the Ronald McDonald Children's Charity Board and the San Diego/Imperial Country Health Care Council. In the past she has volunteered at the North Coast Animal Shelter. She has two teen boys and her physician husband practices in the Tri City area. Pat teaches in the Crisis Center's preschool three days a week with another long-time volunteer, June Bush. She comes each Monday, Wednesday and Friday without fail, from 9-11am and even longer. She also does the shopping for "snack supplies" when needed. She has put in an impressive 109.75 hours this year. In addition to preschool, she participates by taking the kids on outings such as the Wild Animal Park, walks on the beach etc. She has a real knack with the little ones.

With the assistance of dedicated, reliable and talented volunteers like Pat, Casa's services to children living in our group home facility are greatly enhanced. The staff at Casa de Amparo feels very fortunate to have Pat on our team.

Thank you Pat!
