Castle Heights

Our Pacific Military Academy circa 1930

This is Harry Culver's Pacific Military Academy (1929-1945) located on
Cattaraugus Avenue. The property bordered Castle Heights Avenue to the west,
Beverywood Avenue to the north, and Cardiff Avenue to the east. It later became
Cheviot Hills Military Academy (1946-1952) and then Chaminade Catholic High
School for Boys (1952-1961). The property was then sold to developers and the buildings were razed in 1962. The tree lined road is Cardiff Avenue.

The photographer likely stood near Oakhurst Avenue & Kincardine Avenue. Incidently Kincardine (rhymes with Gin Garden) was called Ivy Street at that time.
