12. The Board should consider holding a Board meeting within 7 days of the Annual Membership meeting for purposes of electing officers.
13. The community newsletter was used as a vehicle to editorialize the Board's position, especially by Ron Valiga. This was an unfair use of it unavailable to all, and the Board should refrain from using it to espouse editorials. Tags labeling segments of the membership such as "civic-minded" should be avoided at all costs. On the other hand, Board members are also neighbors, and the use of inflammatory language against them is equally improper.
14. An adequate number of bound copies of "Roberts Rules of Order", the Association bylaws, and other governing documents should be readily available for Board members and homeowners attending meetings.
15. HOA errors and omissions insurance should be reviewed for directors, officers, and committee members to insure adequacy of coverage and familiarity with claim provisions.
16. The Board of Directors should review the relationship with current legal counsel to address the adequacy of the legal advice given by counsel in this matter together with establishing procedures for future contact between individual Board members and counsel.
17. The Association should not institute or pursue any further litigation against any person or entity with respect to this matter.
18. A major contributing factor is voter apathy. We are all stockholders in a multimillion dollar corporation and own 1/400 of that company. Before any individual homeowner points a finger at the current Board or the MSST they must first take a look at their participation in this HOA. Ultimately, we all share the responsibility of insuring the proper management of our HOA. We owe it to ourselves and to our community to get involved.
