Is anyone out there willing to assist the HOA when needed? I'm in the HOA industry and let me tell you, it's hard to get community involvement. If you'd be willing to be of service to our homeowners association, please reply to this with your name and contact info.
Re: Willing to help with HOA

This is SO true! Nobody wants to go to meetings, nobody wants to help out, all people want to do is complain and have everyone else fix the problem for them.

We tried setting up a Block Watch, with a Pinal Sheriff's Deputy who came out, and there was only a handful of people who came. Shoot, the first meeting we even had FREE food as well as a potluck, and there were less than 15 people there. IMO it seems to be easier for people to complain rather than get up and get involved and DO something about the issues.

Please keep in mind that all of the board members are volunteers from our community, we do not get paid for what we do. We all have regular jobs and families and we don't always have the time to ''walk the property''. If you see a violation, PLEASE inform Kachina through a letter, email, or phone call. There is nothing wrong with an anonymous phone call. The board members will tighten the noose on Kachina and make sure they are doing their job to resolve all these issues. If you are not seeing results in the community, inform the board so that we can bring specific issues to Kachina's attention. We have all got to work together to keep this a decent, well kept community, the board members cannot do it alone.

What sort of help is needed? I am willing to help out but I will NOT to do it by myself. We have a large community and there has to be community involvement to get anything accomplished or changed.

I am all too familiar with the thankless job a Board member has (former VP of an HOA) but the board is there to speak and make decisions for the best interest of the entire community..even though its not a paying job you are there to work for yourselves and the community. It is also the Boards responsibility to ensure the management company is doing what WE all pay them to do.

Also, I'm not sure the statement that the board can meet anytime is accurate. My understanding is if you are meeting as a Board, discussing HOA business, an announcement to the community has to be made so that community members have the opportunity to attend...whether or not they show up is a different story unless its an emergency meeting or an Executive session which the general population is not privy to anyway.

Michael, when is Kachina's contract up for renewal? Its not difficult to get bids from other property management companies and I would definitely solicity the opinion/input of surrounding community's HOA's to find out who's doing a good job for them. I have first hand knowledge of a really good one and a really really bad one if you're interested.
