Ok I did look up the CC&R on page 17 section 4.10  Kinda wish you would have provided ALL the information on this.  The last part of the section states no sign will be erected "without the prior written approval of the Design Review Committee".  So if your going to sell your house or put up a political sign in your yard you must get prior written approval from the Design Review Committee.  Yes indeed all you people and Banks out there with "For Sale" signs erected in the yard, you are in violation.  I am sure the Board is making sure all of these properties have complied getting prior approval from the Design Review Committee or having them fined.  Right ?

Just for a few of you that think I was totally serious on the above posting I will clarify.  I think this Rule about No signs in your yard is a bit much.  If you read the CC&R it states "NO SIGN will be erected"  so that includes "For Sale" signs, Yard Sale signs, free kittens signs.  Does anyone, including the Board think it is right to fine a Bank or a person for trying to sell there house, or give away a kitten? The CC&R rule was written wrong.  I understand the reason for the rule on page 17 section 4.10,  but it was written with out explaining in detail. If this is not changed, or maybe another one added to say it is ok for a For Sale sign to be displayed in your front yard, you bet I am going to get prior approval when I go to sell my house.  But any Managment company or Board that fines because I have a garage sale sign in my front yard or even a political sign in my yard is a community that I do not want to live in. 

It really isn't that difficult to get approval for a "For Sale" sign.  You just submit an app to the committee and they approve it.  The idea is to stop "yard sale" signs and political signs, etc...  The CC&R's are like our state laws...very BRAUDLY written and they leave alot to interpretation.  I don't know what to tell you other than what the CC&R's say.  As I said, if you feel that strongly about it, bring it up at a meeting and request a community vote to change it.  I suggest you bring an idea for the new regulation though.

Well on the next meeting I would like to know how many Banks and home owners asked for approval's for their "For Sale" sings.  And how many fines are being sent out for such violations for such signs that did not get prior approval.    I do not believe this CC&R was written to stop the "yard sale" or the "political" sign.  I can not believe any HOA would be that Dictorial.  Next thing you know you will start fining a person for having a Flag Pole in there front yard displaying the American Flag.   Oh wait that did happen in Florida, and the whole Country got behind the owner.
