You may not be to blame for another shortcoming from the HOA, but that is exactly what it is. IMO, there should be no sugar coating this.

Suggestion- when it is rescheduled... ask Simonton to post it on their board a few days ahead along with the mailings. This will encourage a lot to show up.

Question- with a 5% increase that was voted in, can you explain the math in this? I am confused. When I do the math, it is a lot larger than 5%.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on things. I realize you are probably a homeowner here in Castlegate, too. The frustration is in how easy getting a notice out should be. When one takes on the responsibility to be a board member or president of a HOA, this is the least the homeowners should expect. We pay for what, again? Also, things come up and "printers" fail. We can still expect accountability in our leaders. When the failings are repeated, they appear intentional.... not obsurd.

Yes to be a board member you have to be a home owner in Castlegate, HOWEVER, the management company (which is who is the who sends out notices, etc) is just that, a HIRED company, and like with any company there are good and bad ones, and there are oops's that come along, etc.  It isn't like the board members are getting paid, the management company is though and yes should have notified the board about the failed printers, etc.  However, when there is more than one channel sometimes things happen (ie board decides this is the date, then they tell the management company, then the management company has printers that print the postcards and mail them...it isn't just the board members making the decision and the board members mailing out the notices).  Also your money goes for more than just that, gardeners, pest control, water, electricity, trash collection, maintenance for the things that the lovely little children around here break, the list goes on and on.

Well, in response to the increase in dues....once again, I am told that they are in the mail and everyone should be getting a paket of info.  The packet will include a news letter, explenation of increase, 2009 budget, and website/account info.  There was a typo in the payment books...that should be explained in the info packet.  I'll be looking for mine in the mail here in the next few days.  You can bet your donkeys a$$ I'll be on Oasis like white on rice if it isn't in my box by Monday!
