Green Belts are yellow

Posted in: Castlegate

Why is it June and the green belts are not being watered? I miss having green grass!

I'd encourage you to attend the next HOA meeting as these are things that are discussed and explained.

I agree. I went to the last HOA meeting and it was discussed that the HOA board decided to save additional money by not watering as much. When asked about why the landscapers are still mowing it all, the answer was that H & N (the landscaping company) has their own system of what they do and that the HOA/ Oasis is not going to tell them how to do their job. I agree that the common areas look horrible right now and that even though it may save a ton of money, some areas have gone down to the dirt, so there is not even any dead grass. It was previously discussed at another meeting that they had been thinking about turning some areas into desert landscapes,s o this may be a way to begin that process. All I know is that the CC & R's do state they are required to keep it up and they are not.

Any thoughts?

I like the desert landscaping. Plant a few mesquite trees, a couple other desert plants and  rock the areas. But leave two to three watered, so the kids have a place to play. Maybe even a 50/50 split? Half common areas desert and half green belt?

My 2 cents.
