What a night!!
Approximately 250 people attended the CHNA celebration of National Night Out on August 6, 2013. With plenty of activities for the children, great music by the Music Machine (Mr. Gil Favela), and free paletas (frozen fruit bars) to keep things cool; everyone seemed to have a good time. There were also tables and displays from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations, the El Paso Police Department Northeast Regional Command Center, and the El Paso Fire Department. Flags Across America provided the large American flag on display and the Border Patrol Explorers Post 910 helped keep the children entertained with games and activities.
The evening gave everyone a chance to get outside for some fresh air, learn a bit more about the law enforcement services, and join or renew their membership in the Castner Heights Neighborhood Association. People also had the opportunity to purchase CHNA polo shirts, T-shirts, and hats. White Sands Federal Credit Union set up a table and provided information about their services. A special thanks to City Representative District #4 Carl Robinson, Mr. Able Olivas from Albertson’s and the folks from White Sands Federal Credit Union for supporting our event with generous donations.
