CRIME REPORT; 01-28-11
Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…
At about 7:20 P.M. last night, Officer Ward responded to a call of a possible drunk driver in the 3300 block of South 14th. Witnesses had observed a 76 year old male driving a vehicle and the vehicle had hit a curb almost causing an accident. The driver was found to be extremely intoxicated and could not even stand to complete the field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. A search of his vehicle revealed an open container of an alcoholic beverage.
At about 8:35 P.M. last night, Officer Dixon stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Butternut for failing to signal a lane change. After contacting the driver, a 36 year old male, it was found that he appeared to be intoxicated. The driver did perform the field sobriety tests and failed. He also provided a breath sample that was over the legal limit. He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
Finally at about 11:30 P.M. last night, Officer Romero contacted a suspicious subject in the 1400 block of Briarwood. While approaching this subject, a 24 year old male, Officer Romero observed him toss something down. After further investigation it was found that the subject had tossed down a plastic bag containing cocaine. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
