INDEPENCENCE DIVISION
The Independence Division (Baker 3) comprises nearly 59 square miles of Mecklenburg County with a strong commercial presence along with a multitude of residential areas. Baker 3 is located in the southeastern portion of Mecklenburg County. There are 85 officers, 9 sergeants, an investigative technician and a captain assigned to the district. The office is currently located at 9315G Monroe Rd. The district is divided into three response areas and operates five work shifts with two overlapping shifts. The majority of officers are assigned to these shifts, although the district also operates a Street Crimes Unit, Traffic Unit and Community Coordinators.
