DON'T BE FOOLED, WINTER IS STILL HERE
This is the time of year that the pipes freeze, the cars do not start, and everything that could possibly go wrong does. You know, Murphy's law. Be sure and remove any items that might freeze from the garages and put them in the basement. Be sure to have the garden hoses removed from the outside faucet in order to prevent the hose from freezing. I realize this is the last thing we want to be thinking about now, but if we plan ahead problems can be avoided.
When the weather really gets cold, pipes could freeze under kitchen cabinets or in a bathroom that is on an exterior wall. It is a good idea to keep the doors to a base cabinet open in order for the warm air to circulate underneath the sinks. Another good idea is to keep the hot and cold water faucet running at a slight stream when the weather gets extremely cold. Any help to keep the pipes inside of your home as warm as they can be during the many cold days that we have coming, could save us all a lot of frozen pipe aggravation.
