The Gay, Lesbian and Transvestite community celebrated one day of their annual Gay Pride Week at the Hastings Street Ballroom and Detroit Art Space in July. Over 1,100 party goers descended on Central City, bringing their unique lifestyle and culture. CCA attended one of the parties where the theme centered around the color white. ?“It was truly a sight to see,?” said Laura Howard, CCA?’s President. ?“The most amusing part of the night was seeing the straight male security staff?’s crushed faces when they discovered that the woman they were drooling over was really a man.?” The parties ended between 4 and 6 am, making it one of Central City?’s most memorable events.
