Monday, June 14, 2010
7:14PM:  Central Park Precinct Community Council President David Giordano began the meeting by thanking Darius Lang for the use of the meeting space: The Fourth Universalist Society Landmark on the Park. TheBoard members present were:
* Rafael Castellanos                 
* Roger Thomas
* Gene Vezzani  
7:15PM: The current Board members were re-elected by a unanimous vote.
7:16PM: The following updates were presented byDavid Giordano:
* The application for the Central Park Precinct Community Council to receive
 501 C3 status is about to be submitted.
* The checking account balance for the Central Park Precinct Community Council is currently $1300.   
7:18PM: Captain Philip Wishnia the Commanding Officer of the Central Park Precinct greeted the audience and presented the crime stats for the past 28 day period.  Captain Wishnia explained that usage of Central Park has increased recently and the unattended property issue in the area of the North Meadow ball fields continues to be a concern. NYPD officers are handing out flyers near the North Meadow ball fields to increase awareness of the risks involved with leaving personal property unattended.
Captain Wishnia provided an update on the construction/renovation of the new Central Park Precinct station house, and opened the floor for a question and answer period.  
7:35PM: Tanya Apparicio, Assistant District Attorney, Crime Strategies Unit greeted the audience and explained how the Crime Strategies Unit functions.
7:38PM: The following individuals addressed the audience:
* Jill Briston, Central Park Conservancy Director of Operationspresented an update on Conservancy projects.
* Mindy Solkin, Owner of The Running Center
* Bob Nicholas, Central Park Dance Skaters
* Bill Harley, Central Park Skate Patrol
* Rafael Castellanos, Central Park Medical Unit
7:48PM: Community Affairs Officer Rick Tombari presented a detailed overview of upcoming events scheduled in and around Central Park. A sampling of these events included the following:
* Good Morning America concerts at Rumsey Field
* Upcoming parades
* Philharmonic Concerts
* Shakespeare in the Park season runs through August 1st
* Adventures NYC event
* New York Road Runners Races
* August 3rd National Night Out Against Crime
* The next Central Park Precinct meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 13th
7:54PM: Linda Lopez, Department Team Leader, UpperWest Side C.E.R.T. explained the following:
* C.E.R.T. is an all volunteer organization
* Web site address is www.cert.org
7:56PM: Captain Wishnia invited the Central Park Precinct Community Council to utilize the new station house as a monthly meeting venue once the construction/renovation is completed. 7:57PM: David Giordanoended the meeting
