Update on Fence Replacement Program
Hello everyone,
A meeting was held on July 30, 2003 at All Saints Lutheran Church. Thank you to all who attended this meeting. The following items were resolved regarding the Fence Replacement Program:
?· Our neighborhood will use a two-tiered pricing system
?· Perimeter homes will be assessed at 30% above interior homes
?· We have attached a copy of the cost benefit analysis for your review.
The city of Aurora has assembled the PD & E Committee to consider alternative fence building material options. This committee will be meeting on August 21, 2003, at 4:00 P.M., at the city and county building at 15151 E. Alameda Pkwy (N.W. corner of Alameda and Chambers) on the 5th floor, in the Mount Elbert room. Several of the material options being considered, such as, pre-fab concrete fences and inter-locking block fences, would be at a considerable reduced price for our neighborhood.
Your presence at this meeting and/or encouraging phone calls / e-mails to the PD & E committee and city council members on the committee, may have a positive impact on the resolve of their decision. Remember, this is an election year and has worked in our favor on previous projects.
You can contact the PD & E city council members at the numbers listed below.

Re: Chaddsford Downs Neighborhood Fence Replacement
Dear Mayor Tauer;
I am a Chaddsford Downs resident. I heard that the city created a PD & E committee to consider alternative fence building material options. I am excited to hear the city would be considering such options, since inter-locking block fences and pre-fab masonry fences would be at a greatly reduced cost to our neighborhood and all neighborhoods considering the fence replacement program in the City of Aurora.
The benefits these alternative building materials would offer seem great. Not only would the cost be considerably reduced, the longevity of these fences along with their aesthetics is very attractive to our neighborhood, as well as the security they offer. Also, the pre-fab fences seem to offer a much-reduced exposure of open backyards to perimeter homes, especially those with children and pets.
I can only imagine that this would greatly improve the chances of a positive outcome for neighborhoods voting for this improvement. This seems like the perfect win-win situation for aesthetically improving these neighborhoods, along with the city.
Sincerely,
