A message from the Security Committee

            Since our neighborhood joined the Village Defense network this past April, we have enjoyed a significant reduction in crime.  There was an 80% reduction of crime for the month of July compared to last year. There was only 1 crime in the neighborhood, located on Peyton Road. Maybe the criminal are seeing the few Village Defense signs scattered around the neighborhood and realize that they might as well stay away.

The Village Defense organization is so committed to providing service to all of our neighbors that they have announced a drastic reduction in membership fees. The new membership fee is $1.00 per month. Remember, the original fee was $6.00 per month.

Since there has been an 80% reduction in the crime in our neighborhood, we need to set a goal of 0 crimes. I believe that this came be achieved if we have 100% participation by having a sign in each yard. If each yard has a sign, then it might be possible that no one in the neighborhood will be victimized by criminals. It is certainly affordable. It only cost $1.00 per month. This is much less that the cost of making repairs and replacing stolen items from your homes.
