I am thinking about replacing the Polybutylene Piping in my unit. Has anyone done this already?
If you have done this, do you have any recomendations on a good contractor to use?

Hello B Henry. I just noticed your post. You probably have replaced your pipes by now(?) I had PBT grey pipes replaced with PEX in 2014 by Cardom Plumbing and Heating 303.421.5525. The cost in 2014 was $3038 (probably more now). They did a great job and were very professional. Haven't had any problems since (knock-knock). They also had to cut several holes in the walls which I had to hire someone else to patch.
Over the course of several years (before replacing) I repaired sections of pipe where hairline leaks had developed; it started above the water heater and gradually propagated into the kitchen ceiling. The last water leak in the kitchen ceiling made quite a mess.
Hope this helps.
