?¨ The County was asked to provide the presentation after the chapter heard about the County?’s successes in implementing energy conservation measures.
?¨ An overview of the County?’s green initiatives to a gathering of the regional chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council will be presented.

?¨ One of the highlights of the meeting will be a tour of the County?’s downtown energy plant that provides chilled water for five County buildings downtown. The plant contains a thermal energy storage system that makes ice at night when utility rates are lower and it is more efficient to operate. The plant also collects condensate water from all five County buildings, saving more than three million gallons of water annually. This plant is one of the reasons that the County has received three Energy Stars for buildings downtown.
