Garbage/Trash services

Posted in: Mitternight Park
Our neighborhood has repeatedly complained of 'trash' being put to the curbs too soon for our every-other-week pickup day, Thursday.

Some of this 'trash' is due to our now, ''transient'' neighborhood. Here today, gone tomorrow, without concern for their neighbors; Maybe because they had no choice. Or do they? This is my first question.

Secondly, no one can control the inclimate weather; therefore, 'we' must clean our property at 'its' convenience, and 'store' our trash on our properties, which I have been doing. This is extra work, as I have to move this trash twice.
Also, working families and the elderly are not always available or able to clean their yards at their neighbors/City's compliance. Therefore, my second question: Why can't the City pick up our GARBAGE on ONE day of the week, and pick up our TRASH on ONE day of the SAME week?

Thank you for your replies, and the opportunity to use this online convenience.

I agree

I work the night shift (12 hours at Mobile Infirmary) and it gets hard to handle everything that deals with the yard. I just ask the people be patient with uncut yards. :-)

Who do we speak with that could possible have an affect on our trash situation?

Trash Complaints

You can call John Gavin, Community Group Liaison for the City of Mobile at 454-4270 fro trash complaints of any kind. If you do not want to call Mr. Gavin, you can email me your complaint, and I will contact him for you without giving your name. You can call me at 344-0840.
Trash/garbage

I believe that I did send you the complaint in my email. As you can see, there are other neighbors who share my thoughts. Some neighbors are putting out their trash on Fridays, weekends, etc. ''just'' inside the right of way....but anyway you look at it, it's still visible on the street. Everyone still has to look at it, so what's the point? You may use my name.
