Summary of General CECP Meeting of March 26th

Our co-sponsors for the meeting, Coventry Woods, did a great job of getting a good turnout to hear speakers on a number of issues. Committee reports were also part of the meeting, as well as the opportunity for folks to network.
Kent Main, CharMeck Planning Staff, gave an overview of the Eastland Mall Plan and John Palmieri, Charlotte Economic Division presented information on the Eastland Mall rezoning.
Upcoming rezonings that affect the East area were given, along with information on zoning codes and community improvement issues. Our community police representatives were also in attendance to answer questions.
Many of the questions for the evening were to our guest speaker on the latest tax revaluation. In addition, Councilmember Nancy Carter brought maps which showed the majority of the Charlotte East area increased in value from 5 - 10%.
Also joining us for the evening were Councilmember Sara Spencer and Commissioner Valerie Woodard.
