One of our Residents was shopping on 4/14/07 at Food Lion on South Blvd. She stopped to look at some plants. While looking a female started chatting with her about ''air gardens''. She noticed she kept looking toward the front door of the store. The lady left that was chatting with her. Another lady walked up to our resident to ask her if she was looking for her purse? She saw her purse was missing, it had been in her cart. Her purse was found down an aisle with her wallet missing. Credit cards, over a hundred dollars cash, and the big NO NO (SOCIAL SECURITY CARD). Remember from our ID THEFT AWARENESS session that the Police say to never carry your Social Security Card on you. Store cameras showed a man snatching her purse while the lady distracted our resident. Food Lion has a blurred photo of the vehicle the two that stole her purse. Don't leave your purses unattended for even a minute. Last year a similar thing happened to one of our residents at Aldi's.
