Covenant Controls

The Board continues to hear from many Homeowners who are confused about the Charterwood Covenant controls. Encourage all to review the Covenants to be familiar with the associated requirements. Ignorance of them is not an excuse. One aspect of the Covenants is to help protect the investment of all members by means of requiring yards and homes to be maintained in good order. Included are home exterior paint, fences, roofs, lawns, trees, shrubs, etc.

Letter notification by the Association shouldn?’t be needed to accomplish things like painting, removing dead trees/shrubs/plants, weed control, etc.

A related aspect is that, per the Covenants, a Design Review Request must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for review and disposition prior to any lot improvements. A few examples of the many in this regard include painting a home exterior a different color, replacement of roofs and windows with other than that of the original build, landscaping changes/additions, and structure additions. Refer to the Covenants for a complete listing.
