Everyone, please be aware that the fight is back on. Last year, we fought to keep the zoning change last year from happening to turn our nice quiet agricultural area south of us (near our friends at Mallard Cove) into an industrial complex. The city listened to a high turnout of residents and turned down the zoning request change by Chesapeake with prejudice (meaning it will take 1 year before they can reapply for another zoning change in the 7000-block of Randol Mill Road). That zoning change was to prevent a change from Planned Development (homes) to Industrial. Well, there is another attempt, but this time by a couple of land owners there formed a corporation (Two Ponds, LLC), who own a couple of pieces of land that can be merged into the amount of land needed by Chesapeake to put in the compressor stations. Currently, the suspected goal is that they will merge these pieces of land after the land area is re-zoned to Agriculture. Why is Agriculture bad for Randol Mill when there are already ranches there? Because "Ag" will allow anyone who owns the land to put certain items on the land without asking the city for any permission & no public hearings. This means compressors could be put on to the land without anyone disclosing it until construction already began-which would be too late. We urge you to come to the Zoning Commission meeting on Wednesday August 8th at 10am at Fort Worth City Council chambers, to oppose this zoning change from Planned Development to Agriculture. Oppose the change to AG. You do not have to speak at the meeting, just show up-we need physical bodies there to oppose the application. Thanks, Jim Roland President RTHA Be sure to check on our Facebook page and our i-Neighbors.org pages for more details.
