Chautauqua Park Neighborhood Association

Assistance available

Jul 30, 2001

Community service assistance is available to senior citizens and disabled persons in the neighborhood who need help with yardwork or other outdoor chores such as picking up litter or snow removal. The Chautauqua Park Neighborhood Association is considering a collaboration with the Fifth Judicial District?’s Youth Offender Program in which supervised youth provide such services to those in need. If you are in need of assistance and would like to participate in the program, please call CPNA vice president Jan Johnson at 283-1496 or physical environment chairperson Owen Steil at 280-9008. Let them know what type of work you would like to have performed and what equipment or tools you have that the workers may use on your property (i.e., lawn mower, rakes). If you have specific questions about the Youth Offender Program, please contact Richard Bates, Supervisor for Drug Court, Youth Offender Program Education, 910 Washington Avenue, Des Moines 50314, telephone 242-6619.
