attended an interesting meeting on Tuesday. The subject was ''quality of life'' and code enforcement etc. I am on the Great Neighborhoods Action Team of the BCU. We went through our entire neighborhood and took hundreds of photos and presented them to city officials and our councilpersons. What surprised me is that I myself am in violation and didnt even know it! We were all set up to talk about illegal curb cuts and illegal three family apartments, and overflowing trash, and poorly maintained properties, etc. But did you know that having your trash can out front without a lid is a code violation and you can be fined?! I didnt-- my can is now inside the stoop!
I want to make sure everyone understands the codes and their responsibilities as residents. I have some pamphlets from the NID to distribute at the APNA meeting, and we'll have someone soon from the NID come to talk to us.
