This morning on Thames

Posted in: River Trails

Thank you for the information Melissa.

Living across the street from the school is it very upsetting to watch people fly down Elbe not paying attention.  It doesnt matter whether school is in sesson or not people need to slow down! The kids gather around the school year round.

I was hesitant to post anything without having the actual facts and I still am but, last report 10 minutes ago, the little girl is going to be fine. Mrs. Stokic has been in close contact with the child and reported that the child has a slight head injury but she will be okay. This information is per a resident that spoke to the School Secretary earlier today.

This posting is very disturbing to me, it was mentioned to me by a friend and neighbor.

It was my child that was hit by that car on Thames and San Joaquin.  Her injuries are far more than just a slight head injury.  There were 3 people there when the accident first occurred, if anyone has any information or specific details, it would be very much appreciated.

I'd also like to add that it's upsetting to know that we keep our community informed through channels of indirect people with incomplete information.  What was posted really undermines the severity of the accident and also takes away the sense of urgency to correct an ongoing issue with vehicle traffic around the school.

Renee,

Your daughter and your family are in my prayers for a quick recovery. Please let us know if there is anything that the community can do for you. I agree that something needs to be done about the vehicle traffic around the school. We live across from the school and my husband witnessed two cars racing side by side down Elbe one evening. He called the police and it took them over an hour to respond!  Something must be done to keep our kids safe!

I just posted on "Cars parked on Tyne and Perdido" then read this.  My heart sank!!

People on the street are inconsiderate, rude, among many other names I cannot mention on a public thread.  That is why Texas was ranked #2 just below New York!  It's ridiculous!!

My heart goes out to the family and will continue to pray for a speedy and full recovery!!

SLOW DOWN PEOPLE (screaming from the rooftops!!)
