Had an issue today with after school outdoor activities. A neighbor noticed my 9 year old playing with her gate entrance. I know that has offended her. She followed us to the park in her car and numbered the times she has noticed him touching her fence. I thought her threat to call the police was unreasonable. If the only thing you can do is tell the children not what to do what kind of example are you setting. To report a child to authorities for a simple grasp of a clasp is a little harsh. The future of our youth is at hand. If you know who is reading this please be forgiving and reconsider your approach to the situation.

Perhaps teaching your child not to touch other people's property without permission would do better than posting here. It isn't a hard lesson to teach. Please do it. No one should be violated due to the fact that you think your child is "golden" and should be able to touch other's property. |

You know no child is golden. They are all human and energetic. If some of our neighbors put their energy into understanding that, an energetic child, loves to touch anything it can see, than we would have a comfortable neighborhood. All the patron had to do is get to the gate and close it if the latch was lifted. Not, get into the car, that was parked outside the fence, on the sidewalk no less, and drive to the park and condone our sensitive self esteem. There was no crime committed by him. Innocent yes, golden no, harressment yes, effective no. |
