This meeting was advertised as a board meeting yet identified as a workshop by the President. Is there a difference? And was labeling it as a "workshop" correct? You be the judge. Contents of the meeting follow:
In attendance were:
David Rix, President
Karen Cramer, Vice President
Jeff Schmidt, Board Member/Landscape
Ron Crosby, Board Member
Absent:
Gene Halbert
Ravon Strickland
Lars Jettman
1. Adopted the final changes to the Code of Ethics guidelines for the Board. Passed unanimously
2. Removed Ed Pauley from the Office of Parliamentarian. Passed unanimously
3. Research the cost of having a Sgt-at-Arms for board meetings to control the crowd. Passed unanimously
4. Code of Conduct for members of the association adopted. Passed unanimously
5. Amended and adopted a, for the lack of a better title, Request to Speak Form. Passed unanimously
6. Research the cost of hiring a CPA as Treasurer. Vote-3 to 1 with Ron Crosby voting no. Way to go Ron.
7. Adopted a job description for the maintenance position. This is good. Passed unanimously.
8. Video taping of meetings. This is the intent for the association to buy camera equipment to video tape board meetings etc., and prohibit members from taping themselves. A member could request a tape but have to pay for it. When they charge .50 cents a copy for copies, can you imagine the charge for a video tape. Motion to research cost of video equipment passed unanimously.
(See this one on "Talk About It")
9. Karen Cramer was designated by David Rix to form a committee that would research the cost of have the landscape company maintain homes that were in foreclosure, rental, unoccupied, etc.
