Has Satan deceived Mankind? What do most church members know about modern holidays?
The 1999 edition of Encarta Encyclopedia states that Easter embodies pre-Christian traditions. St. Bede, a scholar of the 8th century, thought that the word Easter came from the name of the goddess Eastre. This was pronounced the same as Easter is today. Eastre was thought to be the goddess of spring and fertility. Her festival was celebrated on the day of the Vernal Equinox. Traditions of her festival survive today in the “Easter Rabbit”, a symbol of fertility, and colored eggs, originally painted to represent the sunlight of spring. A Greek legend symbolized the resurrection of life in the spring. Phrygians thought that their god went to sleep at the Winter Solstice and they used music and dancing to awaken him at the Spring Equinox. The early false church used Easter to supplant the Passover instituted by the Eternal God. HIS annual Sabbaths, the First and Last Days of Unleavened Bread, are ignored by most of mankind.
Lev. 23:2 ---The feasts of the Eternal--- 23:3 Six days shall work be done; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein; it is the Sabbath of the Eternal in all your dwellings.
23:4-- These are the feasts of the Eternal, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 23:5-- In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Eternal’s Passover. 23:6-- And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Eternal: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 23:7-- In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 23:8 ---in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.23:14---it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 23:21 ---that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. 23:24 ---in the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 23:27-- Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Eternal.23:29--- For whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 23:31-- Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 23:32-- It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath. 23:34---The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Eternal. 23:35--- on the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 23:36 ---on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; ----it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. 23:37--- these are the the feasts of the Eternal,---

Christmas was adopted as a “Christian” festival in the 4th century as a substitute for the pagan celebration of the Winter Solstice. Before the introduction of Christmas, each year Romans honored Saturn, the ancient god of agriculture, in a festival called Saturnalia. This festival lasted for seven days and included the Winter Solstice which usually occurred around Dec. 25 on the ancient Julian Calendar. The Roman Catholic Church chose Dec. 25 as the day for the feast of the nativity to give Christian meaning to existing pagan rituals.

(The Holy Bible carefully conceals the birthday of Jesus Christ. It does indicate that the date could be in late Sept. or early Oct. because it states that there were shepherds abiding in the fields. The sheep would have been sheltered in Dec.)

Rev. 20:2---And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
II Cor. 11:3---But I fear, lest by any means. As the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty--- I Tim. 2:14--- And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Rev. 12:9---And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Mat. 4:8---Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Mat. 4:9---And saith unto Him, all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (Jesus Christ did not tell him that they were not his to give because He knew that the Devil is the god of this world. Jesus has qualified to be the King of the World but has not yet assumed the office. Satan still has the power to confuse the religions of the world. If he did not, why are there multiple churches on the earth today?)

I Cor. 14:33---For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
