CIRCLE C POOL COMMITTEE HOMEOWNERS SURVEY 2003
SUMMARY OF RESULTS
COMMENTS

Swim Team Complaints by residents made in Pool Survey.
When will the residents be heard?
When will the residents be represented?
-------------------------

The current situation at the pool has too much of the pool allocated to the swim team.

My greatest concern is the VERY limited space available for recreational swimming.?  The percentage of the pool dedicated to laps is outrageous.?  Also, the weights are the biggest eyesore for an otherwise classy facility & entrance to our neighborhood.?  It seems the swim team gets more privileges and exceptions than the average CC homeowner.

Gym and exercise facilities.?  More open lap lanes for adults in pool; swim teams often occupy almost entire pool.

Allow more of the pool to be used for recreational swimming (fewer lanes).?  Hire professional lifeguards who are polite, able to answer questions, and pay attention to the swimmers.

Take out most of the lap lanes and make more of the pool available for recreational swimming.

Either make the swim team get their own pool or cut their use.?  It's a sweetheart deal at our expense and to the detriment of the homeowners enjoyment of the pool.

It would be nice to be able to get into the pool.?  The swimming team and programs dominate the majority of the pool and leave most homeowners crammed into one small section.?  Our dues are high and the service, other than landscaping, is not evident.

I would like to see pilates classes or yoga offered for CC residents.?  P.S.?  I would like for the pool water to be warmer during the summer months so that the pool can be utilized by neighborhood recreational swimmers and not solely for the swim team members.?  It was a big problem for my family during the summer of 2002.?  Please consider a compromise for those of us who are not professional swimmers.?  Thank you.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!! Our community needs a 100% family-oriented swimming pool with lots of shallow areas with water toys for children.?  Also covered areas for adults/children for use during the hottest months and areas to lay out.?  For ideas, look at some of the Schlitterbahn family/children pool areas.?  The current swimming pool is really unacceptable for this because it is set up for a competitive/lap swimming pool.?  It's TOTAL waste because my children and I do not like to go to the pool.?  This would be a HUGE asset to the community and I think would raise homeowner values.

We need more room to recreational swim, we support the swim program however, the regular homeowner is not allowed to use very much of the pool.?  We are given a small square of the pool to use while the swim program has 85% of the pool.

Leave the gym stuff to the commercial ventures, please.?  I do exercise, but would not use a CC facility.?  (Sic re: willing to pay a service fee) Absolutely no - and there is no such thing as ''free''.?  If there is extra money, but the assessment please.?  Turn the pool back into a creational pool - not a sports venue for the select few and not a for-profit venture for the certain users.?  (Sic re: support & verification of membership cards)?  What are the ID cards we already receive??  I thought this was already in place.?  If there is a reason I would leave CC it is that the pool is no longer recreational and user-friendly and that it has become ugly to look at.?  It may eventually lower property value.

Thank you for addressing the pool problem.?  There are more homeowners than pool ''team'' members.?  The swimming area should be portioned out in the proper proportions.?  Meaning more room for recreational swimming.

Get rid of Reese & CC Swimming.?  Then maximize the use of the current pool within its budget before considering any new pool.?  If winter use by homeowners doesn't justify the cost, then close it!.(Sic re: membership cards)?  How else do you keep nonpaying homeowners and nonresidents out??  How else do you guarantee only those entitled to use are allowed in?

More recreational swimming; less lap.?

While I support the idea of swim teams, swim lesions, etc., they seem to be overriding a lot of time and availability of the pool/lanes for other adults.?  Several times this past year there was no area/lanes left for swimming because of team practices or lessons.

The parking situation concerns me the most.?  Few people pay attention to the posted signs and when there is swim team, the lot is crowded, full and congested with people driving in, dropping off and leaving.?  It seems like an ''accident waiting to happen''.?  There simply is not enough room for the parking for the pool, mailbox area and child development center.?
I also think we should post some no parking signs on LaCrosse near the entrances to the pool complex - on summer days it's very difficult to safely exit the pool area and be able to see both ways on LaCrosse because of cars parked right up to the entrance.

Pool with more child friendly areas not just for swim team & Olympic swimmers.?  There are a lot of young families who live in CC.

Mid-life adults get no use of the pool due to the swim teams & practices.?  Working adults need water exercise classes at convenient times.?  A decent gym would be nice.?  Also, the swim team coaches should not use the basketball courts exclusively for the teams, they should allow kids who play basketball the same privileges as the swimmers at the same times.?  We seem to have a problem with ''swim status'' coaches that continually kick other kids out of the area.

We really need a recreational pool.?  The swim team dominates the use of the current pool.
Get the swim team out of here.?  They have taken over our pool and are rude to the homeowners.?  Every year the free swim area gets smaller & smaller.?  I am tired of my kids being verbally abused and yelled at by the people who run the swim program.?  This is NOT their pool!?  I thought it was the neighborhood pool.

Simply a pool facility I could take my family without being booted out by the swim team.?  A facility that I felt comfortable going to (like in the years past) that my family could relax and enjoy the swim area and not feel like the swim area was second to the swim team!

pool to the attractive neighborhood pool that it was portrayed when we moved here, not a gaudy, overlit, tented, overrun, filled with non-resident, professional training facility.?  We wish these people all the success in the world, its just that this was our pool at one time, now ourselves and our neighbors no longer use the pool at all.? ?  Most of the neighborhood has built their own pools due to the commercial overrunning of the ''old'' community pool.?  While we once had the entire pool to use and enjoy we are now frequently relegated to 3 sq ft or 1 lane.?  I would like to deduct my portion of homeowners dues that go toward the pool as it no longer serves any needs of my family or me.

and MORE!

I think with some of the children reaching the teen years and with the increase of vandalism we've noticed recently, it would be very beneficial to have a community/recreation center.?  I think we should provide positive activities or we will only see more and more vandalism, teenage drinking, etc.?  This would also help to bring the community back together, hopefully the way it was when we first moved in (95).?  With the current pool facilities being utilized by outside organizations, it seems that we have lost that area as a gathering spot.?  I regret not getting involved back when that decision was made.

I would also like to see the mail facility moved away from the swimming pool area.?  The congestion caused by swimmers being dropped off and the lack of available parking make retrieving the mail a huge hassle.

More swimming space for residents in the existing pool that we pay for already!

More space for recreational swimmers, especially children.?  For such a large pool, we have very little space to enjoy swimming due to swim team monopoly of the pool.

More room for recreational swimming, not just 1/4 of the pool area.
