I'M NOT JAYBIRD

I don't know why my last post included the name ''Jaybird'' in parenthesis, I did not include it or use that name.

Landscape Critics

The months of March, April, and May were
three of the driest months on record in
100 years in this area with less than one inch of rain. This is an extreme
environment that was also hard on homeowners as the subdivision as a whole looked worse than I've ever seen.
It is also hard on animals and birds.
As for the local CCR mouth who critizes
Susan Hoovers lack of degree just look
at Michael Dell or Bill Gates. They have been reasonably successful

Unethical Business Practices

Unethical Business Practices Critic Here.

Let's give the majority of contracts, the majority of a 1.3 million dollar budget, to one inexperienced person, a past Board member, a past developer key employee, without a bid process.

*Landscape Contract.
*Maintenance & Repairs Contract.
*Management Company Contract.
*Review & Inspection Services Contract.
*& separately paid for landscaping through the Swim Center Operational Costs.

Imagine if the Mayor gave over half the City of Austin budget to a pal of his that didn't have the correct expertise. Imagine if he gave that pal 4- 5 different contacts, lets say those contracts should have gone to a few totally different EXPERTS. Is that right? Would you be OK with that? Is that ethical of the Mayor? Would this be a scandal? Is this any different to what we have here in Circle C? Did you read my post from a few days back about ''Hooverville''?

Is the weather an excuse for this unethical business practice you support?

We need a budget committee. We NEED to bid out every service we have, we need experienced professionals to competitively bid on our services (a sealed bid process).

Why has our BOD GIVEN, without a sealed bid process, EVERY SINGLE contract (our money) to past Bradley employees?

How can anyone defend this ''Good Old Boy'' nonsense (unless they are a part of it)?

You relate Susan Hoover to Michael Dell.
I'd say Martha Stewart is a lot closer.
Education Degress...

Here is another reason to stop wasting MY money planting these pretty flowers etc. DROUGHT. They have to be planted every year, Sure they keep her employees with jobs, BUT native plants, scrubs and trees are doing just fine with VERY LITTLE WATER AND FERTALIZER. (Look at the natural forest area) That?’s why in a drought situation my entire yard is in full colorful bloom following The City of Austin?’s watering suggestions. The wildflower area in my yard gets NO irrigated water and its doing just fine as well. I also watch some of my neighbor?’s who water and water to keep their grass green and their non-natives alive. Sure it looks nice, but in a drought, they?’re in trouble like in 2000.
The point still is (maybe some don't want to hear this) BUT, a contract for landscaping should not be HANDED TO SOMEONE especially someone that was a BOD and in bed with Bradley?’s payroll for years. Are you from America? USUALLY, that?’s the way things are done, they are usually BID OUT to the most qualified and/or best price depending upon the bid requirements.
What would Susan Hoover do for a job IF HER POSITION BEING A CONTROL FREAK WAS ELIMATED? Go on unemployment? Well I bet ya that there are more unemployed qualified landscapers then she. That is the fair way to operate. You can't be real about comparing Gates & Dell.
