WHAT HAS THE SOUTHEND GAINED FROM OUR NEW MERGED GOV.?

WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE SOUTHEND

I grew up in the Southend when we had nice neighborhoods, that were very attractive. We went to a school in our own neighborhoods. It was a very desirable place to bring up your kids.

My neighborhood is about to get a steel factory 200ft. from my backyard. This will be in the heart of Pleasure Ridge Park. This company will spew out at least 191 tons of toxins a year. It will affect the air in all surrounding areas in our community.

What is our mayor and our new metro council thinking???
I can only assume we are being targeted for heavy industry. I don't see any new malls, new restaurants, or movie theatres. Preston Hwy. area has been upgraded with these new community friendly amenities and we should expect no less for the Dixie Hwy. area. Please remember we pay taxes too. It seems many of our tax dollars are going to the wrong things. Such as a 7.5 million dollar tax break for Maverick Tube.

What is Maverick giving the Southend? Jobs at a lesser wage than the Michigan plant, and of course 191 tons a year of toxic soup in our air.

How does a plant like this fit into our residential community? Ask the people who are in favor of it:
Gov. Ernie Fletcher
Mayor Jerry Abramson
Greater Louisville Inc.
Ky. Chamber of Commerce
Our New Metro Government

Can someone please tell me what's up with these low income apts. going up in the Terry Lane and Moorman Rd. area. Is there similar housing going in in the Dearing Rd. area?

We are a community of intelligent hardworking people. We raise more money for the Crusade for Children than any other community year after year. This is home to our Little League World Champions. We will not let the New Metro Government push our community under the rug. We are a vital part of the mayor's reign, he needs our vote.

What kind of future do we want for the Southend? Let's not be quiet anymore. Other parts of our county are not quiet and they get the quality goods and services. Let's get some of our tax dollars back in the Southend to upgrade our area with new restaurants, movie theaters, and perhaps a new mall. Let's ban heavy industry, drugs houses, and cheap rental properties from our neighborhoods.

Many young adults from the Southend are leaving for the other end of town, let's
bring them back to better neighborhoods.
Let's don't let our new metro gov. make us the next Rubbertown!!! Better yet let's get rid of the old Rubbertown too!
It's just morally wrong to put human beings in these types of living conditions!!!
