Clifton Springs Community Council

We Want You...Membership Drive

Aug 01, 2001

Have you ever wondered why certain areas of Dekalb County get all the GOOD
STUFF such as parks, libraries, recreational facilities and etc. while
other areas are overwhelmed with UNDESIRABLE GROWTH? Such as liquor stores,
greasy spoons, truck stops, gas station / convenience stores and etc.

Ever wonder why public streets in certain areas are so well maintained
while streets in other areas are allowed to decay into an array of
pot-holes?

Ever wonder why the schools are so well equipped in certain areas while
in other areas the schools have become a cluttered eye-sore of trailers being
used for over crowded make-shift class rooms?

Have you ever wondered why your taxes continue to increase while service
to your community continues to decrease?

The answer to all of the above is organization and unification.

The communities that receive all the good stuff are the ones who are
organized into strong neighborhood/homeowners associations or community
councils. They are unified in their efforts to preserve and bring about
positive change. When they speak, the powers that be MUST listen and take
heed.

Through the efforts of the recently organized CLIFTON SPRINGS COMMUNITY
COUNCIL, our community is rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with. We
have gotten the attention of our elected officials and they now realize that
we are serious about issues concerning our community and that they must
listen to us and be sensitive in their response.

In order to become even more effective, we need to be unified with
every household in the community, for we all know that "in unity there is
strength".

The Council meets bi-monthly (odd numbered months) on the third Monday at 7:30 pm. at the Flat Shoals Library. We urge you to attend our meetings because we want to hear your ideas, suggestions and input.

The Clifton Springs Community Council is a non-profit organization and
is in the process of applying for tax exempt status. However, organizational
expenses do occur. Therefore, to help fray expenses, we ask that each
household contribute at least five dollars per month to be paid annually,
semi-annually or quarterly.

To make your contribution please contact the treasurer: Lewis Bacon at
(404) 243-7688. or make checks payable to: CLIFTON SPRINGS COMMUNITY COUNCIL
