SORRY ABOUT THE TYPO IN ''Decals?. THE POSTING SHOULD HAVE READ AS FOLLOWS:

Neither my wife or I are able to attend the HOA meetings and we recently recieved a registation form for our vehicles and were told that we would be issued decals that we MUST attach to our cars. The form says that this registration is mandatory. The notice does not explain why the Board has made this requirement. Will someone please explain what purpose the vehicle registration and decals are supposed to serve.

yeah well

Yeah well, that's yet another reason I think it's a bad idea. It's not like the decals are going to do anything. I'm not putting it on my car.
Identification

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the decals are to identify resident's vehicles at various times when necessary. For example, suppose you have a car ''piggy-backing'' you into the gates... well if the person has said decal, at least you could identify them as a resident and not someone just trying to get in for whatever reason.
Other reasons could be to identify residents autos that occasionally park in the clubhouse parking or even parking on the street in front of their homes. It just allows identification of ''Resident's autos'' inside our community.
