clonial acres as a somewhat violent place to live. colonial acres has its fair share of property crimes. However, in some of these discussion boards we make these property crimes sound like violent crimes to make it more interesting to read I guess. Or I think some of us dont know the differences between property crimes and violent crimes and the type of criminal that chooses to rob at gunpoint compared to the one that breaks into your house while your at work.
First off, during a robbery a victim has to be there with the suspect generally within feet of him. The suspect takes something from the victim by either using threats, physical force, or arming himself with a weapon. Though having your house broken into is creepy and can be expensive it is not violent. It is a property crime. These home invasion robberies you hear about in the news are 99% of the time planned robberies, not burglaries gone bad. A burglar usually will not have a gun. Mainly because he would pawn the gun at the dope house and not worry about breaking into a house to get a fifty dollar dvd player to trade for crack.
If you leave your lawn mower in the yard or carport while you make a trip to bp to get some gas and its not there when you get back. You were not robbed. You were not burglarized. Someone took advantage of a great opportunity to get something for nothing and STOLE your lawn mower.
So with that being explained here are three examples to think of before you post your next discussion on this site about how you were robbed in colonial acres eventhough you were in kansas.
