Interesting, but we do need to rely on meeting candidates and reviewing literature and plans and successes.

I have not seen a website for Jim Doyle or many of the council candidates, but am sure all can share information if you get the contact info from the board of canvassers here or on the RI Board of Elections website. Make an informed decision on Tuesday the 4th.

We have a write in candidate as well for school committeeou , and I am sure she too would be happy to share information.

Dear MaryMary,

Mayor Doyle has not engaged in the "same old Stuff" as he has attempted to alleviate poverty in the city since his mayoral run began in 1998.

The poverty platform Mayor Doyle has accomplished for the city has not been advertised well to voters.  The mayor has recently through Pawtucket Community Development Corporation and the Planning Board, opened up six units of homeless shelters on Montgomery Street and off Pawtucket Avenue.  Another 20 homeless units off Branch Avenue will be built by 2009.  The mayor has relocated the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, serving 100 clients per week,  to Walcott Street.

In addition, most of the 22 food pantries and soup kitchens have existed in the city due to his advocacy.

On the other hand, what is the councilor's poverty advocacy program?

After watching the mayor vigorously walking hilly streets in the heat of July and August to canvass voters, one gets the strong idea the mayor still has several vital years remaining in his term.

Peace,

Ludlow1
