A Merry Christmas to all of you and your families,

A special Merry Christmas is given to a New Bedford tenement landlord who nearly burned his house down.  The reason for the accident according to Channels 10 and 12?  The landlord wanted to blowtorch the ice from his porch.  The flames promptly swept through to the second floor vinyl siding and the resulting $30,000 damage will not be covered by insurance.

Would not a hairdryer have accomplished the same ice clearing mission?

By the way, the video of the Channel 10 anchor trying to keep from laughing was worth the 11 p.m. viewing.

Peace,

Jim

The hair dryer was probably too slow for him...but at least it warmed the neighborhood there with the activity and probably will create some work for some carpenters to fix things up in this dismal economy.

Hopefully everyone will share some holiday cheer with friends and family and continue thru the new year with lots of good stuff.

Sure not a surprise in New Bedford althought they seem to have the best deal in town for New Years eve of $5 bucks for all the stuff at their theater

So what is the xmas gift for him...a big learning lesson
