My name is Erin Hunter and I'm an Architecture student at Rhode Island School of Design, in Providence. I am in a studio called Hotel Pawtucket, in which we have situated ourselves as visitors of Pawtucket and hope to make an impact.  We have been asked by the city of Pawtucket to contribute our ideas and projects to Pawtucket, to benefit the city and help it become an incredible place to live or visit.  I would like your help with my design project.  I am designing small, economically efficient and responsible structures for public use.  I hope to establish a network of these structures throughout the city that will be accessible by individual Pawtucket communities and serve to unify all of Pawtucket.  I am communicating with Mr. Thomas Mann, Director of the Pawtucket Foundation, but I would like to hear what the people of Pawtucket have to say.     Are there any community activities, such as farmer's markets or garage sales, that could benefit from a permanent shelterered area?  I hope to make these shelters easily accessible and able to facilitate various uses.      Are there specific areas interest for the neighborhoods and communities of Pawtucket that could accomodate or have a need for these structures?   Thank you for your time and I would truly appreciate any help or knowledge that you can give, whether it is specific answers to these questions or other contacts within Pawtucket who may also be interested in furthering this project.

Do you think that there is anything that would help for downtown to assist the Police Patrols to spot some stuff that Jim spoke of regarding the drug dealing near Slater Mill and the Police Station?

This was the reply from the Pawtucket Police

"I gave this information to our vice officers as soon as I received it from you.  It appears unbelieveable but we will consider it as valid.  Our officers have been put on alert to look for anything suspicious."

ECRI does a lobbying day. Why not a similar place for Pawtucket folks to lobby for their interests?

Dear Erin Hunter,

The Pawtucket-Central Falls Food Pantry needs a new location from Dexter Street in Central Falls, where they are being charged $1,000 per month rent for doing charitable work.

Another idea to use a responsible building:   Why not contact churches such as Living Hope of 100 Broadway to expand their services. Talk to Pastor Cabral or Rene. St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church, 690 Newport Ave. Pawtucket,  may be able to use a downtown location for hospitality.  Contact Rebecca Matuszek at (401) 359-0841 .  Maybe St. Raphael's Academy or Shea High School needs to expand their public service academies.  Contact Keith Wilk at Shea H.S. at 729-6445.

Good luck, contact me if you need any other ideas as I am writing this without the use of coffee.

Peace,  Jim Matuszekrmk@rwmc.org.
